The country: Hungary
Hungary is a relatively small country in Central Europe, but with a rich history. Our very first kings was crowned in 1000 AD. (Fun fact: did you know that Árpád dynasty gave the most saints of all the royal dynasties in Europe?) Hungarians are very proud of their country and achievements. We are at home in every science as well as every part of the world – even in the most remote countries you’ll find someone from this land. We are unique, just like our language – it is not similar to any others, and it’s not easy to learn – just ask the missionaries living here.

The location of Acamps: Révfülöp, Lake Balaton
The lake lovingly nicknamed the Hungarian Sea is the biggest lake in Central Europe. Every Hungarian has a story about a holiday spent at the lake, it’s a favourite destination for friends and families. The northern bank – the location of Acamps – has some nice rolling hills behind the villages and towns at the water, and a slightly steeper bank than the more shallow southern bank. (Fun fact: the town, Révfülöp is very old, it had a ferry port in as early as the 11-12th centuries.) In August the water is always warm and very inviting. There is nothing better than taking a walk by the water in the evening – oh, wait! Yes, there is! Joining the Neon party or the Color party on our own private beach at the hotel (details in a later entry), or listening to some fantastic concerts.
The programs: concerts
We hope you like music, rhythm, and are excited about listening to some new songs. During the camp there are going to be some big concerts: Missionário Shalom – it is a name everyone in Shalom community knows well. The don’t have to be introduced, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic evening with dancing and worship. However, they are not the only band on the stage – the Hungarian band Eucharist will take part in the event as well. Their songs are well known in the country and are often sung in the prayer groups and now, for the first time they’re visiting Acamps. So prepare your vocal chords, these will be great!
