  Moysés Louro de Azevedo Filho is the founder and general moderator of the Shalom Catholic Community, a consultant for the Pontifical Council for the Laity since 2007 and the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization since 2011. Born on November 4, 1959, in Fortaleza, Brazil, he was educated in a Catholic environment and, at an early age, he began to lead prayer groups for young people. In 1976, he had a strong experience with the love of God through his involvement with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.   Maria Emmir Oquendo Nogueira is the co-founder and is responsible for all of the formation in the Shalom Catholic Community. Emmir is married and has four children. She was born in Fortaleza, Brazil. She lived in Rio de Janeiro from when she was five years old until her twenties. She received her education from Lourdes and Ursuline sisters, as well as from Jesuit priests while at University. When she returned to Fortaleza, she graduated with an undergraduate degree in Literature and Linguistics and specialized in the teaching of English for foreigner students, linguistics and phonetics, as an “extension student” at the University of Michigan. Two new priests of Shalom Catholic Community
The archdiocese of Fortaleza has held, the 22nd of December, at 18:30, in the metropolitan cathedral, a solemn Eucharistical celebration in which have been ordained new priests, through the imposition of hands and the prayer of consecration of His Eminence José Antônio Aparecido, Metropolitan Archbishop of Fortaleza. Two out of the six new priests are members of Shalom Catholic Community, the deacons Douglimar Estevam da Silva Lucena and Paulo Henrique Morais Araújo, who lived a time of diaconate serving the Church, the community and the brothers.
