Francis of Assisi, is a saint well known throughout the world and venerated even by non-Christians. A man of peace, capable of arousing admiration and respect for all who approached him, after 800 years men and women continue to look for him, wanting to know the secret of his life.
Francis entered the Shalom vocation through the experience of the founder, Moysés Azevedo, who, attracted by his history and radicalism, found in him a great model of sanctity and spousal love. Yes, Francis’ Spousal Love reached the founder’s heart and touched him deeply, causing him a great desire to respond. In Francis’s love for God, Moysés recognized the love that burned in his heart, loving was the answer, making him loved was the consequence. Francisco, in love with God, went on a mission, Moysés too.
Spousal love and mission, life of prayer and apostolic zeal, contemplation and evangelization. The Shalom vocation is born, then, from that experience of spousal love that overflows in mission, in service especially to young people. These were the first to leave their homes to evangelize other young people. Through them, many found Love and became announcers of this love to the ends of the earth. Francisco’s scream continues to resound … whoever has ears, listen.
I love this! My favorite quote from St Francis is “Love is not loved”.
