“My name is Bárbara and I’m a master’s student in translation at the University of Brasília, Brazil. I’ve participated in Acamps twice. The first time was at the Acamps Summer Festival 2022 in Italy. I went with a group of Poles from the Shalom mission in Krakow (Poland). We drove straight there from my country! It was an incredible experience, during which I could see how international Shalom’s charism is. There were people from most European countries in that camp: France, Poland, Germany, Spain, Croatia, England, etc. Each of us with a different culture, language and customs. However, during the camp, I saw that together we were praying in the same spirit, with the same charism, and that our hearts didn’t differ at all!
I was surprised by the excellent organization of the camp by the community, which I really admire. We didn’t lack anything. Today, almost two years have passed since my participation in Acamps, but the experience is still alive in my heart and the memory of it is still vivid. Mainly because, as well as having a lot of fun, it was a time when I had an experience with God. Since then, my life has changed completely.
Acamps was a moment when I felt God’s true love for me, and the fruits of that blossom in my life to this day. From then on, I began to seek God in my life more intensely. First of all, in personal prayer and in the daily Eucharist. Today I live in Brazil and, with a heart full of gratitude, after participating in Acamps for the first time, I was able to go a second time, this time to serve other young people, praying for them so that God would touch their hearts as he did with me.
Dear young, if you have the opportunity to go to the Acamps, don’t even think about it, live the experience and God will surprise you!

The Acamps Summer Festival is a youth festival where young people from all over Europe and the world can enjoy an unforgettable faith experience through different types of activities, such as sports, games, competitions, camping, music, friends, culture, parties, faith, prayer, Eucharist, adoration, catechesis and much more! During the Festival, you can expect to meet young people who want to experience a personal and profound encounter with the living Christ”.
The next edition of the Acamps Festival will be held near Ferrara, Italy, from July 31 to August 4, 2024.
