Last July 5, a group of missionaries of the Shalom Catholic Community arrived in Krakow, Poland, in order to concentrate on the final preparations for the activities of Shalom Community at the next World Youth Day. Among these activities is the HalleluyaKrakow. Under the coordination of Shalom International Assistance, the working group is formed by young missionaries of Shalom Community from Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Brazil.
About 1,000 young participants of Shalom groups, coming from 20 different countries will be arriving in Krakow this July to participate in the big meeting of Pope Francis with young people from around the world. The beautiful polish city holds the famous ‘Sanctuary of Divine Mercy’, where the relics of the great polish saint, the apostle of Divine Mercy, Saint Faustina Kowalska are venerated . Krakow is also the city where Karol Wojtyla – the beloved Pope John Paul II – was archbishop for almost 15 years.
In this Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Krakow will host the ‘Jubilee of the Youth’. The young people will live in communion with the Holy Father, a great experience with the Divine Love that “never tires of forgiving us”.
In this polish edition of WYD, Shalom Community will be responsible for the animation of some catecheses in Portuguese, French and Spanish. The Community Shalom will also have some of their artists performing in the central WYD stage and it is organizing the Halleluya Festival (Enjoy the site: www.halleluyakrakow.com), with attractions from around the world.
