On the roads of Africa! Shalom missionaries arrive in Madagascar for the second Missionary Expedition.

The Shalom Volunteer Expedition Program is an initiative created by Human Promotion Advisory which aims to integrate volunteer services and works to rescue human dignity providing help to the most needy in different parts of the world.

This year, the first missionary expedition was in February and took place in Chaves, a very poor and small city in the north of Brazil which is an archipelago of fluvial marine islands in an area where the Amazon and Tocantins rivers converge and enter the Atlantic. The second one is going to be this month in Antsiranana, a city in the far north of Madagascar where approximately 70 percent of the population lives below the national poverty line threshold of one dollar per day. The expeditions usually last 15 days.

If you’d like to know more about the Shalom Volunteer Program and how to take part in the next expeditions, contact Shalom Human Promotion Advisory by email: volunteering@comshalom.org or international02@comshalom.org

This and various other initiatives of Shalom Catholic Community are carried out with the help of benefactors who take up with us the commitment to promote a culture of peace in the world which awaits the manifestation of the children of God (Rom 8:19).
