I met the Community on a spirituality weekend in 2008. What struck me most from the beginning was the joy in praising God, the desire for holiness and the experience of the Gospel. That experience was an answer to my soul’s desires to such an extent that everything I had acquired until then could no longer fully satisfy me.
After that experience, I took part in a prayer group in Shalom Community where I made a path of human and spiritual growth. While deepening my journey, I also felt a call from God. Two years later, after finishing my studies at University, I left my dream job at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, to respond to God’s love. For some members of my family it was unacceptable to see the researcher (who I wanted to be) becoming a missionary. Many asked me to think about it again, but the call of God in my heart – to announce and testify His love – was stronger and so I left on a mission on April 14th, 2011.
Up until now, I have had the grace to offer my life to God in the missions of Mossoró, Pacajus, Fortaleza in Brazil and then in Rome, Italy. In each of them I was able to discover a little more about myself as I grew in friendship and love for God in the ordinary life of prayer, in communion with brothers, in the challenges, in the purifications of each time, in love to the Church and to sacred things. I have a little experience of mission, but I can testify that God has done great things.
Today my heart grows and welcomes a new culture, new brothers, new children in the new mission that the Lord gives me in the city of Corrientes, in Argentina. And what I can say about this time is: “Thank you, Lord, for all you have done in my life!” And “Here I am, (fiat) may it be done to me as you say!“. I praise the Lord for the eternal bonds that have been built in these years of mission and for those that will come.
I also take this opportunity to thank all our benefactors and donors who believe in this Work of God, which brought new life to many who did not believe anymore.
In Your will, Lord, I will always be happy!
