Starting this Friday (23), the Shalom Convention will take place in Rome, an event that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Shalom Catholic Community in 2022. The meeting has, in the program, training, moments of prayer and also an exclusive audience with the Holy Father Pope Francis, in the Vatican.
09/23- Pilgrim Registration – San Lorenzo Center
With the theme “Shalom: Friends of God, Friends of the Young and Friends of the Poor”, the meeting will take place in the main basilicas of Rome. And it all begins at the San Lorenzo Center, with the registration of the pilgrims on September 23. There, the participants of the Shalom Convention will be able to pick up their pilgrim kit from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Centro San Lorenzo is located in Via Padre Pancrazio Pfeiffer, 24 – 00193 ROME.
09/24 – Friends of God – Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
“He looked upon the humility of his servant. Holy is His name.”
On the first day of activities of the Shalom Convention pilgrims will gather at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, located in Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore, 00100 RM Rome, Italy. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. with the arrival of the participants. Throughout the day, there will be moments of praise, prayer and conferences. The preachers for the first day are Friar Patricio Sciadini, OCD (Egypt), and Emmir Nogueira, co-founder of the Shalom Catholic Community.

On the second day, pilgrims will participate in the conference “Jesus, our poor friend” with Bishop Benoni Ambarus, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome. Giampietro Dal Toso, Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and President of the Pontifical Mission Societies. 09/26 – Renewal of the Offering of Life in the presence of the Pope
In the Paul VI Audience Hall at the Vatican, the participants of the Shalom Convention will have a private audience with Pope Francis. The special moment will include testimonies, prayer and also listening attentively to what the Holy Father will say to the entire Community. At the end of the day, there will be a Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving presided over by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

‘His mercy extends from generation to generation’.
With conferences, a round table of testimonies and concerts, the fourth day of the Shalom Convention will be dedicated to the young people. Therefore, the day will feature the conference on “Shalom, friends of the young” and also with the presentation of the band “Missionário Shalom” (MSH). This special meeting will take place in the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, located in Piazzale San Paolo, 1, 00146 Roma RM, Italy.

The last day of the Shalom Convention will be in Assisi, land of St. Francis. On this day, the participants will have a moment of adoration of the Holy Sacrament and will also receive the blessing of the missionary sending. There will also be a Holy Mass presided by Cardinal Marc Ouellet, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.
