In the diocese of Braga, in Portugal, in the Monastery of Tibães, Shalom Catholic Community held a prayer and formation meeting on Lectio Divina on December 2nd and 13th to deepen the meaning of Advent and help the participants to have a closer contact and a new experience with the Word of God.
The Community has been present in the diocese for 11 years and since January 2018 – at the request of our archbishop Dom Jorge Ortiga – it has taken over the administration of the Inn and of the restaurant of the monastery of Tibães, located 6 km from the center of Braga.
Since the initial inspiration for the foundation of the Community through a ‘café’, the mission has maintained the spirituality of the place by enabling visitors to experience the Shalom Charism through evangelization in the restaurant. Guests and customers of the restaurant are invited to visit the Chapel to share a moment of prayer and take part in our training sessions.
In addition, three missionaries collaborate with the parish by attending two classes of adolescent catechesis, periodic teaching meetings with young people and weekly thematic meetings with adults.
