If you want to live a life-changing experience of love, help and evangelization, Expedition Madagascar 2025 could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for! The call for volunteers is officially open until September 30, and there are several vacancies available for those who want to join this special mission.

The expedition will take place from November 15 to December 1, 2025, in the city of Antsiranana, in northern Madagascar, and is looking for volunteers with backgrounds in health, education, the arts, religion, communication and marketing.

Madagascar is located on an island in the Indian Ocean. Of its more than 28 million inhabitants, 9.5 million, around 34%, are Catholics according to the Holy See. The main languages spoken on the island are: Malagasy, French and English.

The selected volunteers will have the opportunity to help the local population, which faces significant challenges, with one of the highest poverty rates in the world. More than 80% of the population in Madagascar lives on less than two dollars a day, according to the World Bank.

The expedition that can transform your life

The Shalom Catholic Community has been present in the country for over 16 years, promoting activities such as vocational workshops, prayer groups, charity lunches and various activities for all ages at the Peace Space.

Magnaura Lima de Maria is a member of the Shalom Life Community in Madagascar: “These people who have the courage to venture to spend 15 days here in Madagascar live a great life experience with the people of this country. They have the experience of touching God in the lives of the poor.”

“They come to our house and study math, science, history, literacy,” said Magnaura. “It’s just a project, it’s not a school. We help the children so that they don’t stay on the streets. They have the opportunity to grow, to dream, to live a new experience.”
