I am currently a missionary at the Brazilian Central House of the Shalom Catholic Community in Fortaleza where I have spent the past 12 years in the service of evangelization as Shalom Life Community. I was born and grew up in Sao Luis and have been on Shalom missions in Sao Paulo, Aquiraz and Rome, where I completed a theology course. When I was very young, for me the word missionary meant the people who were in Africa or at a poor part of the world helping the underprivileged be part of something bigger, help them live their life to the fullest. The Shalom Mission in Madagascar
“Being a Shalom missionary in a foreign land is a Grace of God. I am touching the lives of a people that was previously unknown to me and now they have become my people”, says Vanda Santos who has been the Responsible for the Shalom Community Mission for 7 years in the city of Antsiranana, Madagascar. The Shalom Vocation in the Holy Land
The Shalom Catholic Community has two Missions in Israel, Haifa and Nazareth. In Haifa, the Community has done the work of evangelization for almost two decades and today there are 13 missionaries there. The celibate for the Kingdom of Heaven, Marcelo David, is responsible for this Mission and shares with us the graces and challenges in the proclamation of the Gospel in this land.
