Representatives of the Edições Shalom participate in Rome in the Catholic Editors’ Day, promoted by the Department for Communication of the Holy See from June 26thto 29th.
At the opening, the prefect of the Department for Communication, Paolo Ruffini, introduced the theme of the digital world in today’s culture. Father Marko Rupnik, SJ, Jesuit theologian, Director of the Aletti Center and artist, followed the event, presenting questions about religious publication in the current cultural context.
More than 50 Catholic publishers from four continents participate. On Thursday, the event addressed the challenges of digital publishing in the Catholic publishing market. Giorgia Abeltino, Director of Institutional Relations and Public Policy for Southern Europe, attended the meeting and spoke about the digital landscape.
The director general of Editions Shalom, João Edson Queiroz, commented the importance of the Journey. “Catholic publishers need to keep up with contemporary dynamics to fulfill the mission of proclaiming the Gospel without fear of entering into the changes of this time.” The Editions Shalom also participates with a stand, exposing its material.
