One of the objectives of the Shalom Community at the Halleluya Music Festival Lisbon is to spread the charism and take it where it is not known, to announce the Risen Christ who passed through the Cross through the arts and evangelization to all the people who pass through the arena during these days of the Festival.
Evangelization in the artistic world
João Paulo Guimarães Martini, 17, Obra Shalom in the Mission of Cuiabá, (MT- Brazil), talks about the role of Man, a character he played in Canto das Írias. For the young man, the show changed his life. “It is a very strong experience, a responsibility. Playing the role of the man is telling the life of each of those young people, including my life, and telling this story at the World Youth Day, where there are so many young people from so many countries, is a responsibility, but it is a grace that God gave me and gave us as a cast, it is a unique experience”.
John Paul explains that the character is a metaphor for the life of an ordinary man who lives in God’s grace and who can also be lost to temptations and other “truths”. He finds himself trapped in himself, in his sins, he loses his hope. God goes into his misery and resurrects him together with Him. “It is my life, it is the life of all of us”, he concludes.
Evangelization and Prayer
Among the evangelization actions are the online welcome in which the Community trains those registered to approach and welcome person to person in the Halleluya Arena, in addition to offering the Mercy Space with confession and prayer and counseling.
There is the opportunity for those present to do the Seminar on Life in the Holy Spirit (lightning version during the concerts), space for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and to get to know the Charism through the Shalom Stand, a place where the community is presented to those who wish to know the Shalom Charism.
Through the welcome, those present live an experience of conquest and are motivated to get to know the Community through the QR Code present on the shirts, backpacks of the Shalom Pilgrims and on the totem available in the arena. Through them they are directed to the Community Portal where they have access to the online welcome that takes place through the following missions abroad: France, Grenada, Rome, New York and Portugal. In Brazil, there is a team from Diaconia (CE) responsible for making this contact.
Those who seek the online welcome, both in Brazil and abroad, will have the opportunity to experience a reunion in the same format, in their respective missions or in the one closest to their city.
No borders
Amábile Koester, consecrated member of the Community of Life, responsible for Shalom Evangelization at World Youth Day says that preparing evangelization for the world has been an experience that allows “to prove how the Charism reaches all peoples, as I can say, it is without borders”.
For the consecrated woman, “it is a great training because we understand that Shalom is for the world, it is for the youth that is scattered everywhere and it is also the desire of God’s heart and it makes us happy because we are achieving what God wants us to achieve”.
