"My life has changed" - Shalom Catholic Community

Acamps 2018 was a very meaningful time for me and one of the most extraordinary moments that I have lived in my life as a Christian.

The experience I had at this festival is almost beyond description and I still can’t fully explain it.

I remember the recreational evenings as if they were yesterday: full of music, dancing, emotions and encounters . My life has changed. Because the Lord has kept His promise in my life. For the first time I had the grace to let myself be showered by the Holy Spirit, opening my heart to welcome the love of God. I still remember these words which I received during the Effusion of the Spirit prayer and they will always resound in my heart: “Don’t be afraid, I’m with you, I’ve always been, since your birth. It will be fine.” How wonderful!!!!

Do you know what? Well, before going to this festival I asked the Lord for one thing: to meet Him.

Today I can say with joy that He was at the Acamps gathering, among the many young people like myself from all over the world to meet Him.

In this world afflicted by all the evils we witness every day, it is our duty as young Catholic Christians to be the hope of the world and never forget that the Church hopes for our joy of living. Acamps is not only a time to have an indescribable personal experience with the Lord, it is also a moment of renewal in the commitment to our Christian faith.
