This nomination comes with great joy upon the recent decision of the Dicastery for the Laity the Family and Life has announced that on December 8th, 2018 the Holy See will establish an organization that will constitute a new and unique international service for the present grace which is the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. On the same date, the status of this body will be approved ad experimentum (for an experimental period). This unique service has been desired and spoken about on many occasions by the Holy Father Francis and will be known as CHARIS. This unique service has been desired and spoken about on many occasions by the Holy Father Francis, and will be known as CHARIS and proposes to work for the benefit of all the realities of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
As a service body for all the realities of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, CHARIS will not exercise any authority. Each charismatic reality will will retain its full identity and remain under the jurisdiction of the ecclesiastical authority on which it depends. Each one, however, for the fulfillment of its mission, can freely avail itself of all the services that CHARIS will provide, a fundamental objective proposed by the new body.
After the establishment of the CHARIS and the approval of it’s status, the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life will confirm the appointment of the moderator, chaplain and the 18 members of the International Service of Communion for a first term of office for three years.

The persons mentioned above will take up their duties on the Solemnity of Pentecost 2019, the day on which CHARIS will take effect. Thereafter, the International Service of Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the Catholic Fraternity of Communities and the Covenant Charismatic Associations will no longer exist. The assets of these two bodies will be transferred to CHARIS to provide this new body with the financial resources necessary to carry out the mission desired by the Holy Father.
