In the last week (from 3rd to 8th April), Father Cristiano Pinheiro, the International Assistant of Shalom Catholic Community, has been in Taiwan, Asia, for a visit to the dioceses of Hsinchu, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, Tainan and Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
In addition to the meeting with the bishops of these dioceses, the priest attended a meeting with about 80 young people with moments of preaching, testimonies and music performances at the Youth Center in the Diocese of Tainan.
“It is very significant the fact that we have been called to preach and witness precisely on this Divine Mercy Sunday, which is the ‘Shalom Sunday’ when the liturgy takes up the Gospel of John 20, 19 (which is in the evangelical heart of the Shalom Charism). At the end of the talk, the young people thanked me for the words about the Resurrection of Christ which , according to them, leads their heart to “burn”. They also shared the need for missionaries able to speak the language of young people in Taiwan”, says Fr. Cristiano.
Fr. Cristiano also visited educational institutions such as the University of Waezon, where he met the Ursulines Sisters who work preparing missionaries to evangelize in Asian countries.
