On July 3rd, volunteers and missionaries of the Shalom Missionary Expedition in Cape Verde celebrated the feast day of St. Thomas the Apostle in the needy community Sao Tomé in the outskirts of Praia. As is their custom, with great joy the residents celebrated St. Thomas’s Day by offering a great banquet to their neighbors and all visitors. The volunteers who went to help were happily surprised and touched by the welcoming, joy and generosity of the local people illustrating once again that: “There is more joy in giving than in receiving”
