“Beauty will save the world” said the Russian author Dostoyevsky and this is what the Verso l’Alto International Concert will aim to express. Beauty is this universal language that transcends all the differences and touches the heart of Mankind, no matter what background, hardship or challenge one can have lived.

The Shalom Catholic Community in Brooklyn, New York, will hold its 3rd Edition of their international concert “Verso l’Alto”.

Gathering local artists, sharing their talents through a variety of artistic expressions, in more than 6 languages. The event has a theme “Lux et Vita”, which means “Light and Life”.

The Verso l’Alto concert is offering an experience with the encounter among music, poetry, dance, cultures, styles and languages.

“Lux et Vita” is a journey from the Light of the Creation, Upwards (“Verso l’Alto”), passing through the trials of life.

“The aim of this event is to show how one’s life can be transformed when exposed to the light of all lights, after experiencing darkness”, says Daphne Bautista a missionary of the Shalom Community, who has been directing the choreographies of the show.

Mike Delouis, catholic singer and friend of the Shalom Community, who has been performing with them since the first edition in 2021 said; “The lights, artistic direction, beauty of the words, and the themes will all come together to form a synopsis of God’s love, mercy, and charity. I hope for this third year,  that we all again get to experience the beauty and majesty that is the Verso l’Alto concert.”

This event will take place on March 4th AT 8PM, at the Emmaus Center Opera House (288 Berry St, Brooklyn NY). It will be free of charge, but donations are very welcome!
