The 4th edition of the Acamps began in Comacchio with the inaugural Mass and a welcome party where young people of 14 different nationalities gathered to live together with great joy the beginning of this unique experience.
IN SEARCH OF THE GREAT TREASURE
Father Francisco Tiago Soares, missionary of the Community of Life and International Assistant of the Community, who welcomed all the participants, invited them to search for a great treasure in these days of living together and having fun:
“The Kingdom of God is like this hidden treasure, but it’s actually easy to find. All we need is the right map and the desire to know more about the life of the treasure’s owner. This camp (Acamps) is like a perfect map to help us find it. The cool thing is, as we start looking for this treasure, before we even find it, God finds us. Just by walking in the right direction, our lives can be changed by this great and amazing treasure, that different from the other one, no one can steal from you”.
INTERNATIONAL MUSIC
The nationalities present at Acamps 2024 are Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Switzerland, Slovakia, as well as Brazil and China.
Over the course of five days the participants in the camp, in which in addition to young people, families and children also participate, will begin in the mornings with moments of spiritual formation and courses with specific themes dedicated to young people and families, followed by adoration and Eucharist.
The afternoons will be full of fun with sports competitions, beach box and swimming pool and the evenings will be enlivened with theme parties, concerts and musical performances. Among the international bands that will perform at Acamps 2024 are Kantiere Kairós, Reale, The Sun, Misionero Shalom, or the Shalom Dublin Music Ministry.
NEW FEATURES
In this edition of Acamps 2024, as a novelty, there will be 24-hour perpetual adoration with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for intercession and as a sign of God’s presence among the youth, in addition to the usual availability of Confession in different languages and spiritual accompaniment.
In the Acamps area there will also be a kids area dedicated to the youngest ones where different workshops and games will be held, as well as a Bookstore, where the publications of Shalom Publishing House, iconography and different products to collaborate with the evangelization of young people will be available.
Also this year, young people will be able to visit the “SH82” stand with information about our Shalom cafeteria located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood in Rome, a place for meeting, study and prayer for the city’s youth.
