comshalom

Shalom missionaries, members of Life and Covenant Community, from different cities in France, went to Toulon last weekend, May 5-6th, to take part in an important meeting of prayer and sharing regarding the service of the Community in the country over the past fifteen years. In addition, Moysés Azevedo, the founder and general moderator of Shalom Catholic Community and fr. Cristiano Pinheiro, the International Assistant of the Community, travelled from Rome to participate in the encounter which aimed to find new ways to be disciples and ministers of peace in the land of so many great saints.

The local responsible persons of the Shalom houses in Aix-Provence, Évry, Paris, Toulon and Avignon shared about many aspects of the life and activities developed by the Community, such as evangelization of the youth, the radiation of the Shalom Charism in France, the growing of prayer groups through the Way of Peace and also about logistic economic issues in order to better serve the Church.

It was an important moment of listening to God through community prayers, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Mass and also to exchange experiences between new and older missionaries in France. In conclusion, it was considered to be a step towards joint work in order to build a unique identity as Shalom in France, arranging major initiatives together such as national meetings and other events for young people.
