In February 2013, the then President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, Cardinal Stanilaw Rylko, blessed and placed the cornerstone of the Church of the Risen who passed through the Cross, in the Shalom General Diakonia, seat of the General Government of Shalom Catholic Community, based in Aquiraz, a city that belongs to the Archdiocese of Fortaleza, Brazil.
The church is distinguished by its spiritual aspect
The church is 26 meters high, over two thousand square meters, and able to accommodate a thousand seated individuals. However, this church is distinguished by its spiritual aspect.
“The Church of the Risen who has passed through the Cross will be a sign of Shalom charism throughout the world, while at the same time it will be a house with its doors always open, where many will come and where many will leave, because from this church the missionaries will be sent all around the world”, explains Moysés Azevedo, founder of Shalom Community.
Generous benefactors from all over the world
Built with the help of benefactors from various parts of the world, the Church begins yet another phase of its construction, the installation of the windows. A set of 379 square meters of incorporated pieces into the architectural design of the temple.
“Through the colors and their positioning, the stained glass windows make reference to different areas of the temple, such as the space of the Chapel of Reconciliation, the Baptistery, the Chapel of the Mother of God and the Blessed Sacrament”, says Leandro Formolo, General Treasurer of Shalom Community .
While the colours purple, red, blue, and gold bring into light the believer, in relation to penance, the Holy Spirit, the Mother of God and the Resurrection of the Lord. The parts will be placed throughout the structure, fixed with a metal system.
“The stained glass windows will further embellish this monument which is built for the glory of God”, emphasizes Leandro Formolo.
