Why attend the Shalom Open Vocational Discernment Retreat?

Every person has a vocation—a unique call from God that brings fulfillment, joy, and holiness. Discovering and embracing this call is a radical step of love and surrender, enabling you to live in harmony with God’s plan. This retreat provides an opportunity to reflect on your vocation, guided by the Holy Spirit and the Shalom Charism.

The Shalom Charism is a gift of the Holy Spirit that calls individuals to live out communion, evangelization, and transformation, fostering a profound relationship with God and service to others within the Church.

What to Expect?

This first meeting is open to everyone interested in a vocational discernment. Attendance does not commit you to the discernment process; it is an initial step to learn more and explore.

If you’re being called to continue and commit to this discernment journey, we will share more details on next steps.

About the Vocational Discernment Process

The Shalom Vocational Discernment Process is a year-long journey of prayer, reflection, and spiritual accompaniment. Participants are guided by a Vocation Accompanier—a mentor who assists them in discerning God’s call through prayer, dialogue, and personal growth.

This process provides space to explore whether you are called to a life within the Shalom Community, another religious congregation, or a different vocation in the Church. It is a time to mature spiritually and prepare for a concrete step toward answering God’s call.

Holiness, Life Offering, and Radicality

Through this process, participants will grow in their understanding of how the Shalom Charism inspires a life of holiness, self-offering, and integrity. To live radically for God means offering your life with totality and joy, trusting in His plan.
