Shalom INTERNET-ional Prayer Meeting: a new initiative of the Holy Spirit

Due to geographical distances not allowing many people to access a Shalom Evangelization Center in their country, the online initiative for vocational training and awakening was born, it is called the INTERNET-ional Prayer Meeting. It is basically a monthly meeting in English with moments of prayer, preaching and sharing on how to make a vocational discernment. Last Sunday,  Shalom Catholic Community organized the first INTERNET-ional Prayer Meeting with the participation of young adults from different parts of the world, such as: Poland, Congo, Malaysia, Philippines, France, Italy, and Jamaica. Registration to the next WYD are in full gear

Less than a year to go to the WYD in Panama (January 22-27 2019). Preparations in the Central American country are in full gear especially after Pope Francis officially opened registrations last February. Over 40 thousand signed up in less than a week, divided into 1000 groups. The preparations to welcome over half million youths are in full gear. We discussed the organization of the event with Fr João Chagas, Director of the Youth Office of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

Pope Francis arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Tuesday morning, at the beginning of a week-long visit to Asia that will see him in both Sri Lanka and the Philippines. At the heart of Pope Francis’ address at his weekly General Audience on Wednesday was his recent visit to the Holy Land. The faithful gathered on a warm day in St Peter’s Square, listened as the Pope told them that this journey was great grace for him and for the whole Church. On Flight Back from Holy Land, Pope Announces Meeting With Sex Abuse Victims

Pope Francis announced Monday he would meet soon with a group of sex abuse victims at the Vatican and declared “zero tolerance” for any member of the clergy who would violate a child. Francis also revealed that three bishops are currently under investigation by the Vatican for abuse-related reasons, though it wasn’t clear if they were accused of committing abuse itself or of having covered it up. “There are no privileges,” he told reporters en route back to Rome from Jerusalem. Pope sends his blessings to participants of the Asian Conference on the Family

Pope Francis has praised Philippine Bishops for holding the “Asian Conference on the Family” currently underway in Manila. The conference, which runs until 16 May, gathers thousands of religious, educators, lay faithful, and politicians all over Asia to tackle the present-day situation of the human family. Pope urges Asian families to be leaven of Christ’s love

Pope Francis has sent his greetings to participants in a 4-day Asian conference on the family in the Phillipines, urging the fundamental cell of society to be the leaven of Christ’s love. The theme of the May 13-16 conference in Manila is “Families of Asia: Lights of Hope”.
