Everyday at 3pm EST the missionaries of Life Community in Boston are united to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet interceding for the whole world. The prayer has being broadcasted live on its YouTube channel ‘Shalom Boston’ since March 15 (Shalom Catholic Community – Divine Mercy Chaplet). People send their prayer intentions directly to any of its social media accounts and during the chaplet they named the petitions and intercede for each one of them.
The missionaries also has started on Wednesday at 7:30 PM EST on Youtube a series of talks about “Hope” on a live broadcast as a night of praise and reflections on “hoping against hope” a expression based on the biblical “Who against hope believed in hope” (Romans 4:18)! Moreover, songs, conversations with guests and social interaction.
In addition, on Instagram story of @ShalomBoston there has been a video with a short reflection of the Gospel of the day by Fr. Cristiano Pinheiro, Shalom missionary priest. Through the Sacred Scriptures where God himself speaks to His people we are able to find hope and comfort in this time of uncertainty.
Furthermore, the initiatives go beyond the social media, the missionaries are offering also assistance for those most vulnerable as volunteers to go to the grocery store, the pharmacy or any other errand that could be a risk and deliver to their door.
Many times in our lives we feel like we alone to confront life’s challenges. Not only can we be sure that Christ never abandons us, in times of crisis God find new ways to show his presence and love in our lives.
