The promise of the Paraclete continues to be renewed in our lives each year at Pentecost. As a Church and as a Shalom Community, we need to constantly call the Holy Spirit upon us allowing him to inflame us with his transforming and loving power. Especially at this challenging time, our lips need to call him fervently: “Come, Holy Spirit!” And therefore, as a family driven by the same Spirit, we want to gather together from the many different places and nations, to be witnesses of its power and announce it to all peoples all over the world.
God wants to attract us back to Him, to the essential, which is His infinite love, and to let that happen we need His Holy Spirit. And what better way to renew our experience with Him than being in communion? The disciples were in the Cenacle, and it was there, gathered in the name of Christ, that the “Ruah” of the Father was manifested. Therefore, in order to renew the experience with the breath that makes all things new, the Shalom Community promotes the International Pentecost Vigil that will take place on Saturday, May 22, starting at 3 pm (Rome time) and will have its headquarters at the International Youth Center San Lorenzo, in the heart of the Church, so that, as the disciples did, we can also call together: “Come, Holy Spirit!” and filled with Him become living witnesses of His Love in this world that needs hope, peace and comfort.
The vigil will be in English and will have a programme with moments of praise, preaching, prayer, sharing groups and, certainly, a moment of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. To participate in the event, all you need to do is register [link below]. By doing this the participant will receive the link to access to the Zoom platform.
Let us allow ourselves to be touched by the “Ruah” of the Father, believing in the promise of His Son who, before ascending to heaven, said to his disciples “But you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit when he comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem , throughout Judea, in Samaria and to the ends of the earth. ” (Acts 1:8)
