Shalom missionary in London to have first consecration in Celibacy
For the first time the Shalom Community in London will held a consecration in Celibacy for the Kingdom of Heaven of one of its missionary members. It is a special time of graces for the Mission.  Inspired by the diversity and unity within the Holy trinity, the Shalom Catholic Coomunity, established in 1982, is formed by all three ways of life: married couples, priests and celibate people. Each way of life (or form of life) lives its own identity and also the complementarity with the others. Thus, the Community is a family and it mirrors the Trinitarian Life. Shalom will have four new Priests
Four deacons of Shalom Catholic Community will be ordained priest on the 22nd of December by the Archbishop of Fortaleza, Jose Antonio Tosi Marques, at Metropolitan Cathedral of Fortaleza, Ceara State, Brazil. They are: Cristiano Pinheiro, Edie Bethlem, Gustavo Jose and Hintz Dagoberto, all missionary members of Shalom Community. Their first Mass is to be celebrated on the following days from 25th to 28th of December at Shalom da Paz Evangelization Centre, Fortaleza city, Brazil. The ShalomCommunity has a total of 17 priests members of Life Community and 10 priests who belong to Covenant Community, in Brazil and in other countries. Young people united for peace and on the way to the Beatitudes
“My dear young ones, be in the front line in this arduous task of building peace in the world”, said Cardinal Rylko to the young people attending the Shalom Youth Congress (SYC or CJS, read more Here). Do you know what is CJS?  CJS stands for “Congresso de Jovens Shalom” (in Portuguese) or “Congrès de Juenes Shalom” (in French) which translated into English is Shalom Youth Congress, also SYC. It is an event promoted by Shalom Catholic Community open to all young people who are willing to deepen their experience with the love of God and grow in faith within the Shalom spirituality. The Shalom Community was established in 1982 with the mission to evangelise all mankind. Shalom Youth Congress: `Youth for Peace’
One week after the dreadful terrorist attacks in Paris, France, not very far from there something else took place. This time is not something fearful but quite the opposite: it is cheerful and most of all hopeful. The Shalom Catholic Community hosted the Congrès de Jeunes Shalom (CJS), that is, the Shalom Youth Congress. The Community, established in 1982, have been promoting the CJS for many years throughout Brazil gathering thousands of young Brazilians and even other nationalities in its previous editions. Special Celebrations at Shalom Community in London
Three missionaries of Shalom Catholic Community from London (UK) made their solemn commitments on the 24th and 25th of July, 2015. Francisca de Oliveira made her First Temporary Promises as Covenant Community and the couple, Clelio and Josi Souza, were admitted as new Disciple members also from Covenant Community. The first celebration took place at St Monica’s Catholic Church in Hoxton Square, London. The Rite of First Temporary Promises occurred within a Eucharistic celebration and marked an important step in Francisca’s vocational life. Co-founder
Maria Emmir Oquendo Nogueira is the co-founder and responsible for all the teachings in the Shalom Catholic Community. Emmir is married and has four children. She was born in Fortaleza (Brazil). She has lived in Rio de Janeiro since she was 5 until her twenties. Her education was given by the Lourdine and Ursoline sisters, as well as in a university of Jesuit priests. When she came back to Fortaleza she undergraduated in Literature and Linguistics and specialized in the teaching of English for foreigner students, linguistics and phonetics, as the “extended student” of Michigan University. Founder
Moysés Louro de Azevedo Filho is the founder and general moderator of the Shalom Catholic Community. He is also a counselor of the Pontifical Council for the laity since 2007, and of the Pontifical Council for the promotion of the New Evangelization since 2011. Moysés was born in 4th november 1959 in Fortaleza (Brazil). He was educated in a catholic environment and since his youth he started to lead prayer groups for the young. In 1976 he had a strong experience with the love of God through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. In 1980 he was chosen by the archbishop of Fortaleza, Aloísio Lorscheider to offer a present for the pope John Paul II in the name of the young people ...

History
The Shalom Catholic Community was founded on 9th July 1982, after that its founder, Moysés Louro de Azevedo Filho, had offered his life and youth to take Christ and the Catholic Church to those who were distant, specially, the youth. On 30th June 1980, Pope John Paul II arrived in Brazil for his first visit of the country. The pontiff visits 13 cities and takes part in the opening of the X International Eucharistic Congress in Fortaleza (CE).
