The evening will feature worship music, prayer, and celebration, as well as other musical attractions joining this year’s event. This will be the fourth edition of the annual music event organized by the fast-growing Shalom Catholic Community, which first arrived in Ireland in 2018.
Reflecting on their four years at the Pro-Cathedral, Bruna Frota, responsible for Shalom Dublin, said: “These years have been so precious for us. We have witnessed families being formed, seminarians discovering their vocation, countless Masses, baptisms, confirmations, and beautiful liturgical celebrations such as Christmas and Easter. This Cathedral has become a place where many people have made important decisions for their lives, leaving their prayers and intercessions here.”
The Pro-Cathedral, which has stood for 200 years, has been a witness to generations being renewed in faith, and continues to be a living presence in the community. For the Shalom Community, celebrating the bicentenary is a moment of gratitude and joy.
“Out of this gratitude, we want to offer a gift to God and the Archdiocese of Dublin: a Concert of Hope,” Bruna Frota said. “It will be a moment of evangelization for those who feel far from God and the Church, and a milestone in our own history as we join in concluding and celebrating these 200 blessed years of the Pro-Cathedral.”
Since arriving in Ireland, the charismatic Shalom Community has grown rapidly, drawing young Catholics from across the world to weekly prayer groups at the Pro-Cathedral. Last year’s Hope Concert welcomed 250 attendees, highlighting the community’s vibrant and growing presence in Ireland.
Established in Brazil in 1982, the Shalom Catholic Community focuses on fostering a personal relationship between young people and Jesus Christ and His Church. Today, it operates in dozens of countries worldwide, bringing faith, music, and joy to communities everywhere it serves.
