In this special occasion for the community in the Filipino country, a Thanksgiving Mass took place in the Shalom House. With the presence of the Most Reverend Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, D.D. of the Diocese of Cubao, where the Shalom’s Mission House is located, the missionaries received, last Saturday (14), priests, religious and lay people to this happy moment.
With gratitude during his speech, the Most Rev. Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, D.D., reminded us about the primacy of the Charisma Shalom: the evangelization through the Cross. “In the Cross, there is life. There is grace. There is salvation. Finally, there is peace. Because this, we are called to spread the Shalom to the world.”, Bishop Ongtioco said.
We have the young people as the primacy of Shalom Catholic Community, so, the young people was an important presence during the ceremony. In communion with the Church in the Philippines, that celebrates this year as the “Year of the Youth”, the community consolidated the call to spread the peace around the world by the power of the Holy Spirit, united with the youth. After the Holy Mass, the people had the chance to get to know one of the the two new missionaries that the Shalom Community in the Philippines is receiving this year! He arrived this Saturday, the other one arrived on Sunday. Wilber Araújo and Daniela Neves joined the others four missionaries to complete the mission of the Community in Manila, Philippines.
