Motivated by this beautiful phrase of Pope Francis, in the desire that all men could find the true connection and discover that the risen Jesus is our peace, the Conexión Shalom band of Santiago in Chile, will launch on 28th July 2018 in digital platforms its first CD in Spanish, the first recording for a Spanish speaking Shalom Catholic Community mission. Choosing a style of music that appeals to everyone, pop rock with a little electronic is the ideal language to reach many teenagers and young people and thus transmit, through music, the message of the Gospel.
The band was born in the mission of Santiago de Chile in 2009, with the noble mission of evangelizing everyone, especially the young, through music. Its members are young Chileans, members of Shalom Work and Brazilian missionaries of the Community. They are constantly invited by various movements, parishes, schools and the archdiocese to participate in events with young people, university students and families and from the Archdiocese of Santiago in their great Catholic events. What makes this band different is the joy with which they announce the Gospel, the dances and above all the kerigmatic evangelization in the shows.
The name of the CD is “Happiness without end”, the name of one of the singles too, wants to convey the certainty that even in front of the world’s turmoil, our daily life, we are able to find a way to reach God, which leads us to a real party only when it’s full of hope of eternity. It is important to note that the recordings were made with highly qualified professionals. The CD is not only aimed at reaching the Chilean Church but all other languages and will therefore be available on the following digital platforms: Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, Google Music.
The recording and release of the CD are a milestone for Shalom Catholic Community. According to Francis Farias, one of the founders of the band and currently responsible for the mission in Santiago in Chile, “knowing that through music the Shalom charism can reach many people is the realization of God’s dream”. There is no doubt that “Happiness without end” is a great project of evangelization of Shalom Catholic Community and that will generate good fruits for the Kingdom of God, for the Church.”
