In the Philippines, for example, Typhoon Fung-Wong, even before making landfall, has already caused blackouts, and it is expected to reach the metropolitan area of the capital, Manila. This Sunday, the 9th, thousands of people were forced to leave their homes. In Paraná, 12 cities were affected by the tornado with winds of 250 km/h; more than 700 properties were destroyed across the state.
Because of these events, we are beginning a new cycle of intercession. This week, let us include in our prayers the people in these regions and the missionaries who were sent to Manila and the state of Paraná.
Ancient Prayer to Saint Joseph
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, and so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. Help me, O Saint Joseph, with your powerful intercession, to obtain all spiritual blessings through your foster Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, so that, having entrusted myself here on earth to your heavenly power, I may offer you my thanks and homage.
O Saint Joseph, I never grow weary of contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He rests near your heart. Embrace Him in my name, kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return that kiss when I draw my dying breath.
Saint Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for me! Amen.
