On Friday 23rd, begins the Ordinary General Assembly (OGA) of the Shalom Catholic Community. With the participation of over 300 missionaries, the meeting is the main organism of discernment of the Shalom Vocation. It happens every six years and lasts 15 days. The opening Mass will be at 7 pm at the Shalom of Peace in Fortaleza – CE.

The purpose of the Ordinary General Assembly is to evaluate the actions taken in various areas and to prospect, based on listening to what God desires for the future years. In 2019, one of the highlights of the meeting is the significant presence of young people and the participation of community members from other nationalities.

The preparation of the OGA began last year. In November, more than 1,500 consecrated missionaries of Life Community and of Covenant Community chose representatives to attend the retreat with the General Council.

An intercession campaign through the Holy Rosary began by the request of the Community General Moderator, Moysés Azevedo. During the days when the Assembly is held, members of the Community around the world intensify intercession through the Holy Rosary, fasting and penance. All this so that the will of God may be manifested in the new time that the OGA inaugurates in the Shalom Vocation.
