“Gratitude is the language of married souls” (AE). In the face of the Easter of our beloved Pope Francis, our hearts can only react with praise and gratitude for his twelve years of pontificate, in which he left the Church a living legacy of mercy.
For us, the Shalom Catholic Community, Francis left deep marks: his welcome, his joy, his love for God, for the poor and, in a special way, those who are our primacy: the young!
Pope Francis was the first pontiff to welcome us in a private audience. There were more than five official meetings with the Community, in which he not only listened to us, but also encouraged us to be faithful and persevering in the call that the Lord entrusted to us.
At each meeting, Pope Francis confirmed our charism of proclaiming Peace that comes from personal experience with the Risen One. With his life testimony, he encouraged us to go on mission to where the Church and humanity need it most.
Below, check out some content that reveals how much Pope Francis’ life is an inspiration of holiness for us, the Shalom Community.
