On this 9th of July, the day on which the Shalom Catholic Community completes 44 years since its foundation, the official programme of the Shalom Convention has been released. The gathering, which will bring together the members of the Shalom Family from all over the world, will take place from 15 to 21 November in Rome.

Ever since the Shalom Community received the Pontifical Recognition in 2012, the event has been held in the Eternal City every 5 years. One of the most important moments of the Convention are the meetings with the Successor of Peter. In this way, the Shalom Convention is a special opportunity to hear what God, through the Vicar of Christ, wishes to guide and direct to the Community and, in a particular way, to each member of the Shalom Work.
News in Assisi
During a livestream held this 9th of July, at the Church of the Risen One who passed through the Cross, the official programme of the event was released. One of the highlights emphasised by Fr. Saulo Dantas, General Assistant of the Community, was the unprecedented programme in the city of Assisi, the city of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, where the relics of Saint Carlo Acutis also rest.
This will be the first time that the programme will include two days in Assisi. Pilgrimages, Holy Mass and celebrations are planned at various points of the city. The great novelty of the programme in the city will be the Candlelight Procession and the Youth Vigil in front of the Basilica of Saint Clare of Assisi.
Speaking about the expectation surrounding the moment, Fr. Saulo mentioned the beauty of the place where the Candlelight Procession and the Youth Vigil will take place. “I can already imagine the beauty of the sunset over the valley in front of the Basilica of Saint Clare, and all of us united, singing and blessing the Lord, and renewing our love for young people,” he emphasised.

15 November (Sunday) – Centro San Lorenzo
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Registration of pilgrims at the Centro San Lorenzo (next to St Peter’s Square)
Masses throughout the day at the Centro San Lorenzo, in several languages
16 November (Monday) – Basilica of St John Lateran
1 p.m. – Welcome, registration of pilgrims and beginning of the programme
5 p.m. – Opening Holy Mass
17 November (Tuesday) – Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls
1 p.m. – Welcome, registration of pilgrims and beginning of the programme
5 p.m. – Holy Mass
18 November (Wednesday) – Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls

Morning – Transfer of the pilgrims from Rome to Assisi

- Church of San Rufino (Cathedral of Assisi);
- Basilica of Saint Clare;
- Sanctuary of the Renunciation (where the body of Saint Carlo Acutis rests).
Evening (5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) – Candlelight Procession and Youth Vigil in front of the Basilica of Saint Clare
21 November (Saturday) – Assisi
1 p.m. – Welcome, registration of pilgrims and beginning of the programme
3 p.m. – Sending Holy Mass of the Convention, in front of the Basilica of Saint Clare
