Some young people from the Shalom youth prayer group in Rome, Italy, had a retreat last week. Two days of talks and prayers.

The retreat started on a cold Friday night in Civita Castellana. Ten Italian young people chose to do something different at their weekend. Far from the city noises, they were gathered to listen to God’s voice and to get a deeper relationship with God and with each other.

The main topic was “What about you? Who do you say I am?”(Mt16,15). The same question Jesus had made to his apostles was presented to the young people as a provocation in order to invite each one of them to reflect about their relationship with Jesus. The talks reflected also about the figure of the apostle Peter and his personality aspects over the years of following Jesus as his master.

The meeting goal was to take a step forward in faith by a personal and concrete answer to God seeking to go forward into deeper water. Through talks, prayers and fraternity moments God made a spiritual renewal and each of them.

Sara Bearzotti, one of the young people in the retreat testifies that “God gave me a new faith experience and I turn back home spiritually enriched .”
