Hope comes to Africa

In February, Shalom Catholic Community missions in Europe began a fundraising campaign to help our missions on the African continent. The campaign, “Your help brings hope to Africa”, continues through to the end of July. Since the campaign began four months ago, we have received significant amounts of financial aid, as well as witnessed the fruits of Divine Providence. With the monies already collected, we can begin the apostolic works at the mission in Lubango, Angola. The Shalom Community has been present on the African continent since 2007. In January 2019, Community missionaries arrived in Lubango to establish our 6th mission in Africa. Shalom in Paris: a small flame for a great new work

On October 4th 2017, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the first missionaries of the Shalom Catholic Community arrived in the heart of the 20th arrondissement of Paris, near the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Cross, in Ménilmontant. It is a very lively district of the capital, thanks to its diversity of lifestyles and the different origins of the populations that live there. The Chez Moi Associative Café, run by the Shalom Community since January 2018, offers a cozy and creative atmosphere with Brazilian specialties such as tapioca and tropical fruit juices. History of the Youth for Jesus Project

The founding of the Shalom Work took place through young people who were sensitive to the call of God and, in an innovative way, desired to transform the evangelization of the youth of Fortaleza through an unpretentious cafeteria. Today, we can see that the magnitude of the growth of this seed thrown by God has a strong resemblance to the parable of the mustard seed, and that the soil chosen by the Father, the farmer, was the youth.
