The 6th Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE) was held from July 18-21 at the University of Santos Tomas in Manila. The theme of the PCNE was Filipino Youth Walking with Jesus and was chosen to celebrate the Year of the Youth as declared by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines in response to Pope Francis’ Synod on Youth last year. Acamps Summer Festival 2019 – II edition, Hungary

Organized by the Shalom Catholic Community, the Acamps aimed to offer all young people the opportunity to change their lives through fun, friendship, brotherhood, new friendships, experiences of prayer and adoration, favoring in any case a meeting personal with Jesus. The Acamps Summer Festival held its second edition from 7th to 11th August on the largest and most famous lake in Central Europe, Lake Balaton, in Hungary. In September of 2017, we arrived in the Philippines for a new chapter of our missionary lives. None of us have ever lived in a foreign country before and for us it was like going on to live a new adventure that this life of following Jesus would guide us to. Hope comes to Africa

In February, Shalom Catholic Community missions in Europe began a fundraising campaign to help our missions on the African continent. The campaign, “Your help brings hope to Africa”, continues through to the end of July. Since the campaign began four months ago, we have received significant amounts of financial aid, as well as witnessed the fruits of Divine Providence. With the monies already collected, we can begin the apostolic works at the mission in Lubango, Angola. The Shalom Community has been present on the African continent since 2007. In January 2019, Community missionaries arrived in Lubango to establish our 6th mission in Africa.
