The Parable of the Generous Sower: Prayer and the Cardinal Virtues in Three Types of Soil

Today’s longer Gospel passage (Matthew 13:1-23) presents the Parable of the Sower together with its explanation. “A sower went out to sow” (Matthew 13:3). Who is the sower? Who are the different kinds of soil?
